Dampier painted beautiful California landscapes & seascapes.
He is a registered artist, with work displayed in many galleries.
I am not sure if the painting is oil or acrylic.
The frame is gold with red highlights.
ARTIST: William Dampier
William Dampier (1910 - 1985). Born in Spokane WA, Dampier spent most of his life in Los Angeles working from a studio atop Mt Washington. He was a pupil of Jack W. Smith and Ejnar Hansen. An impressionist, his work is characterized by brilliant color and fine draftsmanship. His subjects include desert landscapes and still lifes. His works are in multiple respected collections. Member Laguna Arts Association, exhibited at Webb Gallery (LA) 1971 and The Long Beach Museum 1978.
